UPDATE: Scotland has voted to stay in the United Kingdom.
With the results in from all 32 council areas now in, the "No" side has won with 2,001,926 (55.3%) votes over 1,617,989 (44.7%) for "Yes".

EARLIER: As of 4.20pm NZ time (NZT), the campaign to keep Scotland British had received the most votes so far.
With votes still being counted, the BBC is calling the Scottish independence referendum race in favour of those wishing to remain part of the United Kingdom, with a projected split of 55%-45%.
With 24 of 32 council areas having declared, those voting ‘no’ (or ‘nae’ in local parlance) to independence from the UK are leading with 54.21% (or 1,305,388 votes) versus ‘yes’ (‘yea’) at 45.79% (1,102,788).
The vote target to take out the referendum is 1,822,942.
Of those Scots eligible to vote, 97% –or 4.2 million – have registered to vote, with turnout tracking at 84.23%.
Polls closed at 9am NZT today, with the final result expected by 6pm NZT, although that might be subject to delays due to bad weather.
