Simpson Grierson announces Sally McKechnie appointed as partner in its Wellington office
She was also appointed to the NZ Law Society's national Public & Administrative Law Committee.

Sally McKechnie joined Simpson Grierson in May to lead the firm's Wellington-based government and public law practice.
Within Simpson Grierson, Ms McKechnie's role focuses on assisting the firm's public sector facing clients with strategic, regulatory and policy-related issues. Just this week she was appointed to the NZ Law Society’s national Public & Administrative Law Committee.

Sally is currently appearing in a 12-week High Court trial for the “Kiwifruit Claim,”a representative class action claiming approximately $400 million in negligence for alleged bio-security breaches.
Prior to joining the firm, Sally was a Crown counsel and led a public law team at Crown Law. She has a first-class honours degree in Law and a BA from Otago University, was a Rhodes Scholar and attained a BCL with distinction and MPhil from Oxford University. She began her career at another national law firm.
