Trading in Skellerup Holdings stock has been halted this morning pending a material announcement due from the company.
Shares in the agricultural and rubber goods maker (NZX: SKL) were sitting at 63 cents when the halt was announced shortly before 10am, up 26% since the start of 2010 and its highest point in a year.
Earlier this year it recorded a 48% drop in net profit for the six months ending June, but picked a much better second half result, sparking that rise in the share price.
The company which built its reputations on its solid gumboots credited products such as its highly acclaimed Quatro gumboots as a key part of the company’s survival during the downturn.
However it did lose its grip on the NZX 50, replaced on the list of the country’s top performing companies in January by Pyne Gould Corporation.
