Spark says it has won a major contract with the NZ subsidiary of EY.
Previously, Spark shared EY's business with Vodafone, which held the mobile portion of the multinational's NZ business, an insider tells NBR.
Now Spark Digital (formerly Gen-i) now holds all of EY NZ's telecommunciations business.
The contract includes over 700 mobile voice and data connections, and supplements an existing contract with Spark Digital for the provision of fixed telecommunication services, and WAN (wide area networking).
The agreement between Spark Digital and EY was signed last month and the service will be rolled out within 2014.
EY awarded the contract after a tender process and plans to equip its staff with a new fleet of smartphones, and personal Wi-Fi hotspots, Spark says. Project teams will utilise the technology from client’s premises, in order to ensure consistent high speed internet connectivity, irrespective of their location.
