Business confidence stays stalled in low gear

Firms’ perceptions of their own activity show a marginal improvement in the ANZ monthly survey.

Despite efforts by some to talk up the economy, and actual figures showing little slowdown, headline business confidence in November remains at a low point.

The ANZ’s monthly Business Outlook is unchanged at a net 37.1% of businesses expecting conditions to deteriorate over the next year.
