Goods trade achieves near balance in February

Meat exports reached a record $839m, led by high prices for lamb.

The merchandise trade balance in February was marginally in surplus as meat exports rose to a new monthly high.

Total exports rose $371 million, or 8.3%, to $4.8 billion on a year earlier as imports jumped $547m, or 13%, to $4.8b, leaving a slight surplus of $12m.
