Peters backs ‘StuffMe’ merger bid

NZ First has announced it supports efforts to combine media companies.

Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters has said publicly New Zealand First will support a Stuff/NZME merger.

He said his support was driven by concerns media “appeared to be a sunset industry,” with bleeding advertising revenue lost to Google and Facebook, and shrinking editorial staff
