ASX listed mining giant Rio Tinto has posted an interim net profit of US$5.8 billion ($9.8b) for the six months to June, up 14% on the previous half. Despite not meeting forecasts, Rio shares moved A84 cents higher to A$115.50 after the announcement. The interim dividend remained steady at US$1.77
