Ngāi Tahu to sue the Government over conservation reform

Ngāi Tahu says it will take the Government to the High Court over conservation reforms it believes undermines its Treaty settlement and reverses decades of progress in Crown–iwi partnership.

Ngāi Tahu has announced it's taking the Government to the High Court over proposed changes to the Conservation Act, saying the reforms weakened the iwi’s Treaty settlement and breached long-standing commitments made by the Crown.
