Treaty clash erupts over Seymour’s Regulatory Bill

An urgent Waitangi Tribunal inquiry today will decide whether Regulatory Standards Bill breaches Treaty obligations.

The Waitangi Tribunal has opened an urgent inquiry into whether Act Party leader David Seymour’s proposed Regulatory Standards Bill violates Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Seymour, however, rejects the claims, dismissing the inquiry as “another publicity stunt from a Māori Party protest group.”
