VC firm Movac leads $4.75m seed round for medtech startup Avasa
The startup will use the funds to get US regulatory approval for its arterial coupler.
Avasa's coupler would be a direct purchase by hospitals for use on patients undergoing surgery.
Movac has led a pre-Series A capital raise by Auckland medtech startup Avasa, which has done a first close of $4.75 million.
Founded by clinician-bioengineer Dr Nandoun Abeysekera in 2018, the company has developed an arterial coupler that simplifies microvascular surgery.
