Coinciding with Auckland Art week The Arts Foundation and Radio New Zealand are presenting You call this art, a free lecture and discussion in Shed 10 this coming Monday
Launched in 2012, You call this art allows those interested in art the opportunity to gain insights directly from artists as to how they create their work and what it says to us.
Following an introduction from Awa Press Ginger Series author Steve Braunias there will be a live discussion between actor Stuart Devine and writer Ian Wedde, both Arts Foundation Laureate Award recipients.
Joining them for the discussion will be a recipient of a Macquarie Private Wealth New Zealand Art Awards, being held in the same venue the following evening.
The discussion will be is recorded be Radio New Zealand, to be broadcast as part of the ongoing You call this art series.
The event is free with the venue open to the public at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.
The following night the 2013 Macquarie Private Wealth New Zealand Arts Awards (no free entry) will be held at Shed 10. New Zealand’s first multi-disciplinary national awards will announce this year’s 14 recipients who will receive $400,000 in financial awards between them.
