A savvy investment on Waiheke Island has set Walter and Adrianne Titchener up for the long haul.
The couple bought a 130ha piece of land on Waiheke around 30 years ago, the value of which has exploded alongside the island’s popularity. Named Park Point, the land has been turned into a high-end subdivision. While the first stage has sold out, the second stage – Park Point Drive – is now for sale, with its 16 properties ranging from slightly under 1.6ha to over 11.3ha.
While their business interests are firmly rooted on Waiheke, the Titcheners themselves live on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula north of Auckland. They have a son and daughter and five grandchildren.
