Two CAs appointed chairwoman and director of NZ CA

NZ CA Limited has announced the appointment of a new chairwoman, Palmerston North chartered accountant, Linda Gray, and the election of a new director, Matthew Rogers, at the group’s recent annual general meeting. The appointments took effect from September 29, 2017.
Linda Gray has taken over as chairwoman from Greymouth chartered accountant, Sue Merriman, who has retired from NZ CA’s board. Mrs Gray said, “The board and I would like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution Sue Merriman has made to the board in the past three years as chair. Sue has been instrumental in developing ‘The Edge’, a leadership programme for up-and-coming partners/directors in NZ CA’s 29 member firms. We are enormously grateful for her strong leadership.”
A director in Palmerston North chartered accountancy firm Naylor Lawrence & Associates, Mrs Gray specialises in audit and assurance services, and business advisory and growth services for commercial and rural clients. She is a fellow of CAANZ and a member of its public practice advisory committee. She is also a director of AuditLink Limited, and is a director of Kauri HealthCare Limited and she chairs its audit and finance committee. Mrs Gray is a fellow of Governance New Zealand, and she is a member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand.
Matt Rogers is a director of BM Accounting Limited, Havelock North. His work is strategic – he works closely with his firm’s Hawke’s Bay clients to ensure not only they have a five to seven year strategic business plan, but also they have the structures and processes in place to ensure they achieve their business goals.
