The RNZAF’s initial attempt to airlift Kiwi journalists to Gallipoli failed to get off the ground.
The plane broke down, as reported, or at least tweeted, live on the spot, by One News’ Heather du Plessis-Allan.
When a replacement aircraft finally arrived from Perth, crew and passengers may have been worried about being about being mocked en route.

Tweeted Ms du Plessis-Allan today:
“What else could go wrong on #OperationGallipoli? The United Arab Emirates actually IGNORED NZ's request to fly through the airspace!”
