US firm blocks Kiwi infant formula co from brand name

The spelling is different but they sound the same, commissioner finds.

American-based hand sanitiser giant Purell has blocked a Kiwi infant formula company from using a similar name.

NZ New Paradise – which produces colostrum, infant food and formula – can’t trademark its Purel logo, despite the brand having one letter less than Gojo Industries’ Purell brand.
