Parts of the US are experiencing their lowest temperatures in decades today - thanks to the so-called "polar vortex", a counterclockwise-rotating pool of cold, dense air.
The polar vortex is a frequent phenomena, but at the moment it's pushing unusually far south into the US.
In Ontario - the Canadian state that borders the north-east of the US, one man tried to use a water gun after waking to a temperature of -41C.
