Stock Exchange-listed Vital Healthcare Property Trust has sold its St Heliers property for $8.35 million.

The unconditional sale of 188 Specialist Centre on St Heliers Bay Rd, Kohimarama, was to a private investor.

Chief executive David Carr says the sale “is business as usual and forms part of our on-going portfolio rationalisation and capital management strategy”.

The money will be used to repay debt.

The trust recently acquired the 79-bed Hurstville private hospital in Sydney for $12.3 million.

That purchase was made in partnership with Healthe Care Australia, which bought the hospital's operating business, while Vital bought the land and buildings (Vital owns about 10 properties leased to Healthe Care).
