VMware Appoints Alister Dias as Vice President and Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand

VMware, Inc. announced Alister Dias will join VMware as Vice President and Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand

VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, announced Alister Dias will join VMware as Vice President and Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand, effective April 1st, 2016. He replaces Duncan Bennet who left the company on December 31st, 2015.

Dias is an industry veteran of over 30 years with a wealth of experience across business leadership, sales, technical and channel management roles. Prior to this appointment, Alister served as Vice President and Managing Director for EMC Australia and New Zealand and held numerous management positions within the Australia and NZ market at EMC, CA Technologies and Soft Centre.

VMware’s Corporate Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, Sanjay Mirchandani said, “VMware Australia & New Zealand has been at the forefront of technology evolution and change during the Virtualization and Mobile Cloud era. I am delighted to welcome Alister on board as we continue to evolve our diversified business portfolio and drive innovation in the data centre.”

Until Alister officially commences the role on April 1, 2016, Sharat Sinha, Vice President, GTM and General Business for VMware Asia Pacific & Japan will continue as interim General Manager for the business in Australia and New Zealand supported by a strong and mature local leadership team.
