The High Court in Wellington yesterday dismissed a bid by Wellington investor Warwick Walbran to halt bankruptcy proceedings brought by Blackbird Finance.

It is understood that the finance company is pursuing a debt "in excess" of $1m.

Mr Walbran had applied for the judgment on the amount of debt
