Online accounting software provider Xero (NZX: XRO) said it is spending $200,000 to buy a 15.9 percent stake Max Solutions Ltd.
Max Solutions, formed in 2007 by Gavin George and Chris Spence, developed a job management solution delivered over the internet called WorkflowMax. Xero's investment will help Max Solutions develop a tax lodgement system.
Xero chief executive Rod Drury said that while Xero could have developed the tax lodgement system itself, its functionality was quite specific to New Zealand and it was closer to the WorkflowMax product.
