One of kiwifruit marketing company Zespri’s ships has suffered a significant mechanical failure heading to North America. 

The vessel, on route to the Port of Los Angeles, is carrying 3,500 pallets of fruit. The company said the cooling units remain operational with a fruit technician onboard
