A webcam robot visits NBR [VIDEO]
The around $10,000 VGo webconferencing robot debuted at the giant CES trade show in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Auckland-based Asnet has brought the VGo to New Zealand, and hopes to put the robot on the market around February.
Asnet said the VGo - which is controlled via remote laptop and wi-fi, from anywhere with internet access - has applications from video chat, to remote diagnostics in the health industry to patrolling empty warehouses as a virtual security guard.
Unfortunately, the VGo didn't work very well in NBR's office - poor wi-fi was blamed.
But in the clip above, it fairly whizzes around Asnet's office.
