Uncertainty amongst pundits over portfolio allocation in cabinet has increased over the past 24 hours with iPredict without a clear favourite to manage ACC or energy.

Contracts predicting Gerry Brownlee, Hekia Parata, David Carter, Nick Smith, Anne Tolley, Amy Adam, Chris Tremain or Steven Joyce to become energy and resources minister each are trading at less than 4%, suggesting a dark horse will be appointed to the portfolio.

Nick Smith hold on the ACC portfolio appears to be less likely, with Jonathan Coleman now given a 55% chance he will be appointed to the ministry.

Phil Heatley, yesterday widely tipped (98%) to keep Fisheries is today only given a 7% chance of retaining the job. David Carter is the leading contender to replace him (33%).

In contracts concerning the Labour leadership race Grant Robertson is now rated a 68% of becoming deputy leader, up from 48% yesterday.
