UPDATED: DraftFCB business director Paul Irwin said the incumbents for the tender on the advertising side were Clemeger and AIM Proximity.
He said it was a competitive pitch process with a robust government Request for Proposal process and that it was probably fair to assume all major agencies in Wellington had tendered for the RFP.
He said the agency had a track record in social marketing and this would be a focus for the upcoming work with ACC, as well as working to help New Zealanders be more safety conscious in order to lower ACC claims.
DraftFCB has been appointed a member of ACC's supplier panel for advertising marketing and design services.
ACC already had a range of innovative programmes in place but building a safety culture amongst New Zealanders was a big ask, DraftFCB business director Paul Irwin said.
"But just the sort of challenge we love as The Change Agency."
DraftFCB particularly impressed ACC with its track record in social marketing for government clients, across issues such as depression, problem drinking and family violence, said ACC head of communications Donna Baker.
"They also impressed us with their ability to combine traditional media with innovative digital solutions."
The agency said the win added to a successful run for the Wellington office, including tenders for Going Digital, the Electricity Authority and Maritime New Zealand.
