Air-con worker pleads guilty to $600,000 fraud


Guilty plea after SFO investigation into employee theft

An employee from an air conditioning company in Gore has pleaded guilty to Serious Fraud Office charges relating to the theft of $600 thousand.

John William Jackson, 61, today appeared in the Gore District Court and pleaded guilty to six charges of accessing a computer for dishonest purpose, laid by the SFO in December.

Mr Jackson tapped into the computer system of air conditioning company Aire Res-Comm, where he was a director, to divert $604,779.87 into his own account over a three-year period.

He was remanded on bail for sentencing on March 31.
