Air New Zealand has been voted the country’s best employer for the second year running.
Recruitment firm Randstad presented the award last night, based on the votes of 7000 New Zealanders.
The airline won the recognition for strong management, interesting job content, a pleasant working atmosphere, salary, employment benefits and training.
Randstad New Zealand director Paul Robinson says the vote reaffirms the country’s support for the national airline.
“Congratulations are in order for the Air New Zealand team.
"They have proven that establishing and maintaining an attractive employer brand translates not only into a high-performing and engaged workforce, but also into real business benefits to the bottom line,” he says.
TVNZ was named the second most attractive company to work for, moving up a place on the 2011 awards.
Third spot went to the New Zealand Customs Service, with the organisation also winning the most attractive public sector award.
In the education sector, the University of Auckland won the title for the most attractive employer.
The Randstad awards claim to be different to others as the public vote selects the winners and companies cannot nominate themselves or determine categories or criteria for entry.
They also take place globally, with overseas winners including Microsoft in India, Sony in Spain, Eurocopter in France and airline KLM in the Netherlands.
