Nearly half a year on from its February 26 big reveal, at which it said it has gained 206,000 active customers* or roughly 4.5% of the market in its first six months, smashing analysts' expectations, 2degrees is still shy of giving an update.
And none was forthcoming at its 3G service launch earlier today.
The telco did provide an update of sorts, however.
The number of people who have ported a Telecom, Vodafone or other mobile number to 2degrees since its August 2009 launch has grown to 92,000 (as of July 31).
At its last update, delivered to NBR on July 20, 2degrees said the number of ports stood at 83,000.
On June 4, 2degrees quoted Telecommunications Carriers Forum stats that said the number of ports stood at 75,000.
At the time of the February 26 big reveal, the number of ports stood at 53,000.
So: the very broad evidence is that 2degrees is still growing, but a touch slower than it did during its first six months.
Still unknown: how many of 2degrees customers, and whose who have ported a number, have stayed with the telco, or at least given it their undivided loyalty.
* Active defined as customers who had paid for a call in the past 30 days.
