Nearly a week after the iPad's retail release, the company has finally added the tablet to its NZ online store (in a slight stuff up, a customer email announcing the move also contains a Shop Online link to Apple's Australian site).
Shipping is free.
Pricing is the same as bricks-and-mortar options.
Again, sole official NZ carrier Vodafone gets short shrift. There is no badging or mention of the telco on the main iPad page.
One section of a Q&A on the main iPad page reads:
Q: Where can I get a micro-SIM card?
A: You can add a micro-SIM card when you order an iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G from the Apple Online Store. Just select your iPad Wi-Fi + 3G model and choose a micro-SIM card. You do not need to start a data plan at this stage. Or you can get a micro-SIM card later from any carrier offering iPad data plans.
A "Learn About 3G Data Plans for iPad"link does list "carriers" [sic] plans for the iPad, then lists Vodafone's two iPad plans.
On Monday, Telecom released a Micro-SIM, plus two data plans dedicated to the iPad.
2degrees, which plans official launch in August, delivered a trial Micro-SIM to NBR yesterday.
