Architects say bridges shouldn't be exempt from earthquake strengthening legislation

The New Zealand Institute of Architects says retaining walls and bridges along critical lifeline routes shouldn’t be exempt from the Building (Earthquake-prone Buildings) Amendment Bill’s provisions.

The institute is also calling for financial incentives to assist owners of heritage buildings
