Auckland port third in world to automate
A game changer for the port.
Ports of Auckland is to partially automate its container terminal – the first in New Zealand and only the third straddle carrier terminal in the world to automate.
When completed in 2019, automated straddle carriers will be used to load and unload trucks and operate the container yard.
