Leading travel brand, Booking.com has appointed Luke Ashall as New Zealand Area Manager.

The appointment builds on the existing expertise in the region with former area manager, Tracey Foxall, promoted to Oceania Regional Manager overseeing Booking.com’s operations across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Ashall, originally from the United Kingdom, has been part of the Booking.com team since 2011 when he started working as the Hotels Account Manager across the Tasman in Western Australia and Northern Territory.

Ashall’s new role will see him support local accommodation partners as well as oversee the development and growth of the Booking.com brand in New Zealand.

The move represents a return to familiar territory for Ashall, whose career in tourism began back in 2008 with an off-roading tour company in Queenstown.

“I’m returning to New Zealand at an exciting time for tourism in the country, ” says Ashall.

“Overseas visitor numbers are at record levels and the outlook is positive. This represents a huge opportunity for Booking.com and its accommodation partners across the country.”

Globally Booking.com recently surpassed the epic milestone of 900,000 accommodation listings and currently sees over 900,000 room nights booked every 24 hours.

Booking.com today offers more than 3,500 accommodations in New Zealand and continues to grow.

Ashall joins a team consisting of 13 knowledgeable and enthusiastic accommodation experts based out of Booking.com’s Auckland offices.

Ashall added; “Returning to New Zealand is something I’ve been hoping to do for a while. It’s a great country, full of adventure and fantastic places to stay and experience it.

“I’m looking forward to meeting as many accommodation partners as possible and continue to bring more on board to experience the benefits of Booking.com.”
