Breakthrough! Australian e-tailer innovates with Zuckerberg Selfie Stick

The social media self-portrait - it's a phenomenon so common that NBR Technology Chris Keall has labelled today's youth "The Selfie Generation."

But there's one conspicous hold-out: Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Now, entrepreneur Ruslan Kogan - hitherto best known as the electronics e-tailer who levied a 6.8% tax on customers using Internet Explorer 7 - has developed the answer: the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick: an extendable stick for holding your your smartphone or camera at a phtoto-friendly distance as you snap your mug.

If he's lacking confidence or skills in the photographic department, the Selfie Stick should help Mr Zuckerberg take his first selfie, Kogan claims.

While selfie sticks are not new, the Kogan model features breakthrough naming, plus a handy mirror that lets you see your smartphone's display.

"Without having worked for Apple, I'd say our R&D process is very similar to theirs. We just don't have the budget for product launch videos with white backgrounds," Kogan tells NBR.

A Zuckerberg Selfie Stick was couriered to the Facebook founder's office and his office signed for it last night, Kogan says.

Disappointingly, Zuck has still not posted a selfie

It could be that the Faceook founder is struggling with one of the Selfie Stick's technical drawbacks - your smartphone or camera's photo button is out of reach. (Wot no self-timer? - Editor.)

The customer testimonial forwarded to NBR by Kogan ("It's the end of humanity") was also not as postive as it could have been.
