New Zealand gourmet burger chain operator BurgerFuel has opened its second store in the Middle East, with the new Dubai location expected to provide more scope than the less tourist-oriented Saudi Arabia.

BurgerFuel expects to open more stores within the United Arab Emirates following the launch of its beachfront Dubai store by local franchisee Alphamed Group.

NZAX-listed BurgerFuel will export all its beef from New Zealand and earn royalties from the sale of its products. The company recently posted a $552,983 annual loss due to Middle East establishment costs, on revenue of $8.7m.
