Construction, domestic spending drive economic growth in 2021 first quarter

New Zealand’s economy has again surprised economists, with activity bouncing back to grow by 1.6% in the three months to the end of March 2021.

It follows a 1% fall in GDP in the December quarter, with some fearing the country could experience a double dip recession if the March quarter
