Fletcher shares surge on Wesfarmers news but is it true?

Fletcher Building shares surged after an Australian newspaper reported Wesfarmers has been buying shares and suggesting it might launch a takeover.

Fletcher shares jumped 70c, or 12%, to $6.54, with 144,000 shares traded within minutes of the start of trading.

That boosted its market
