National’s council cash incentives for new housing meets mixed reaction
National wants to override current RMA settings to help with ‘unfolding emergency’ in housing.
There’s been a mixed reaction to a proposal put forward by the National Party that would see councils receive $50,000 per each new dwelling fired at pace through the consenting system to counter the “unfolding emergency” caused by failures of the Resource Management Act.
