NBR estimates Mowbray family is NZ’s richest at $20 billion

The family behind the Zuru Group, on track for $3b this year, takes top spot from the man who has held the position for two decades: Graeme Hart.

For just over 20 years Graeme Hart has been described as New Zealand’s wealthiest person.

Hart, who turns 69 in June and whose interests range from packaging businesses to building supply companies and property, is valued at an estimated $12.1 billion in the 2024 NBR List.
