Newshub closure: ‘We need plurality in journalism’
The impending closure of Newshub will leave New Zealand with one television broadcaster, TVNZ.
The announcement that Newshub will be mothballed later this year has prompted concerns that New Zealanders will ultimately pay for the lost plurality in the media.
But members of the government, while dismayed at the news, believe there is still plenty of competition in the media market.
