Racing Minister approves TAB’s Entain deal

Statutory sports betting monopoly to be extended to online and run by UK-listed gambling group for 25 years.

Outsourcing TAB’s operations to Entain will allow increased payments to the racing industry, says the TAB.

Racing Minister Kieran McAnulty has approved the transfer of TAB’s statutory sports betting monopoly to UK-listed Entain for 25 years and agreed to extend the monopoly to online sports gambling.

Under the deal to start on June 1, Entain will take over the TAB’s gambling and broadcasting
