TV advertising: ‘The gig is up’

TVNZ slashes programming and staff; marketing expert says television advertising is no longer a viable revenue gatherer.

The days of clever watchable TV advertising have largely gone.

TVNZ has this morning said it will drop 68 roles from the company in a widely expected slash-and-burn exercise to stay afloat as advertising revenues continue to plummet. 

It is understood some of the roles and programmes affected will be Breakfast and Seven Sharp, while the broadcaster will slash
