Vodafone deal ‘strategically compelling’

UPDATE: Infratil paying $1.03 billion for 50% stake.

NZX-listed Infratil will raise $400 million of new equity as part of its purchase of a 50% stake in Vodafone New Zealand, the company said this morning.

Infratil chair Mark Tume said the acquisition, valuing Vodafone at $3.4 billion, was “strategically compelling.”
