Winston Peters calls Tip Top sale a 'sad day'

UPDATE: A UK-based joint venture of Nestlé and privately-owned ice cream company R & R has bought Fonterra’s Tip Top business for $380 million.

The New Zealand dairy co-op announced the transaction in a statement to the NZX this morning.

The deal is due to settle on May 31.
