Man charged with dangerous driving following September car crash that killed controversial Timaru financier Allan Hubbard.
Police have laid charges against a man whose vehicle collided with a car carrying Allan Hubbard and his wife.
The September 2 crash killed Mr Hubbard and injured his wife, Jean.
Police said in a statement the man, due to appear in Dunedin District Court on Friday, faced charges of careless driving causing death and careless driving causing injury.
The crash occurred 8km north of Oamaru and came months after Mr Hubbard was charged with 50 counts of fraud relating to his Aorangi Securities and Hubbard Management Fund investment vehicles.
The Police said: "The charges come after a thorough and robust serious crash investigation by police. As the case is now before the court, Police are unable to provide any further details about the crash investigation."
