Telogis, a Christchurch-based software company, has just announced a major deal with Ford USA to distribute their logistics and tracking software on all Ford commercial vehicles sold in North America.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Telogis partnered with Ford Motor Company to provide a new real-time fleet tracking solution, Crew Chief.

The technology provides fleet managers with tracking in three key areas of operations – vehicle location, vehicle and driver performance, and vehicle diagnostics.

Ford Crew Chief powered by Telogis will be available at more than 4,400 Ford dealers in North America and can manage fleets from just one to tens of thousands of vehicles.

Ford is pushing the Telogis deal on its Crew Chief website here.

Founded by its chief tecnology officer, Ralph Mason, Telogis’ 2009 revenue was $17.1 million – up 400% over 2006.

Mr Mason remains a director and Telogis, which has 50 staff and plans to hire more, remains based in Christchurch. But the company is now 100% owned by Telogis Inc, based in California.
