The closing of Auckland’s iconic Cin Cin restaurant marks the end of an era for extravagant dining in the country’s largest city.

The waterfront eatery has closed its door and is being gutted and remodelled.

The restaurant has been sold and will reopen in March as Botswana Butchery.

Botswana Butchery is a Queenstown restaurant owned by Good Group. Owner Al Spary could not be contacted for comment.
