State Owned Enterprises Minister Simon Power announced 18 new appointments and 11 reappointments across 12 SOEs and one airport company, effective May 1.
"These directors have a broad range of commercial experience and I expect them to make a significant contribution to delivering on the Government's goal of better commercial performance from our SOEs."
New directors at power company Meridian were former Fisher&Paykel Appliances chief executive John Bongard, former Westpac NZ chairman Peter Wilson and former chief executive of Te Runanga of Ngai Tahu Anake Goodall.
New faces on KiwiRail's board were chief executive of Mint Asset Management Rebecca Thomas and former chief executive of Opus Consultants Kevin Thompson.
Transpower's new directors were former chief executive of Auckland International Airport Don Huse and former TrustPower chief executive Keith Tempest. Ian Fraser will replace Ian Donald as deputy chairman.
Airways Corporation chairman Con Anastasiou retires in July, with deputy chairwoman Susan Paterson taking over as chairwoman.
