Comscore: Blackberry still market share king

Google Android-based phones (variously made by Motorola, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson, HTC, LG and others) may have dethroned RIM’s BlackBerry, and even Apple's iPhone, in terms of new phone sales over the past quarter – at least in the world’s most mature smartphone market, the US.
But in terms of overall installed base, RIM’s BlackBerry is still king, albeit with its reign in decline.

By analysing which mobile phone operating systems were used to access websites, Comscore extrapolated the following three-month market share percentages (Palm was recently bought by HP):

Smaller share of bigger pie
According to Comscore, 53.4 million people in the US owned smartphones during the three months ending in July, up 11% from the corresponding April period.
So despite losing share to Google Android, most smartphone platforms continue to gain subscribers as the smartphone market overall continues to grow.
