Crown picked wrong charges against Capital + Merchant directors – defence

Prosecutors picked the wrong charge – that of theft – in bringing three Capital + Merchant Finance (CMF) directors to trial, a defence lawyer has argued.

Nathan Gedye, representing CMF boss Owen Tallentire, said the just-finished trial at Auckland High Court was a misuse of the theft
