The winner of NBR’s latest subscriber prize, Oamaru New World owner-operator Justin Smith, can’t quite believe his luck at winning a seven-day cruise.

“I had to keep having a look and re-reading it, and then I found one of the ads in one of the National Business Reviews, and I’ve had to read it two or three times, really, just to get my head round it.”

When asked by NBR managing editor Todd Scott who he’d be taking with him, Mr Smith said, “More than likely my wife – if I wanted to come home and not be caught over there.”

At the end of October, Mr Smith and his wife Janine will be spending seven days on the cruise ship Seabourn Odyssey, travelling between Athens and Istanbul; a prize valued at $30,000.

They will travel to Athens on Lufthansa, courtesy of United Travel.

Mr Smith said he liked the pre-prepared nature of the trip, since he hadn’t travelled to that area before. Previous vacations had included Australia and Fiji.

“But that’s as far as we’ve been.”

Mr Smith has been an NBR print subscriber since 2004. He is the first winner out of Oamaru.

All new and exisisting NBR print and online subscribers are in to win the new bigger, 4 door 2011 MINI Countryman Cooper S, valued at $63,000
